Hey Nol, CoH crashed as I was zoning to Steel. I'm on my way back in. I haven't run off with your inf.

Finished putting together my new rig - geekness follows:
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Corsair DDR400 2x512
Chaintech Nvidia 6600GT
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
Maxtor 120GB SATA 150
All housed in a hernia inducing Antec TX1088AMG Case
First off, K tell J that he was right about checking the power supply. I installed a spare for testing. Booted right up. I'm going to assume that the graphics corruption with my video card had something to do with the flaky power supply not supplying the correct voltage. After I run it through other stress tests, I may throw it up on ebay.
In these past few weeks I've also realized I'm just not that interested in owning a gaming console. The PC is firmly in my blood. Granted, some of the games are pretty cool for the Xbox, but IMO the PC experience is so much richer. Anywho, the Xbox was taken back (gotta love 30 day return policies). However, I now have these open games left over. Luckily for me, I have an Electronics Boutique up here.
So I hope to see the few of you on this list in CoH later tonight. Current Mood: accomplished

I've deactivated my account, guys. Text of the comment I left for NCSoft follows -
"I love the game - I really do. But I 've found World of Warcraft to be much more appealing. It is easier to solo in WoW, and there is a lot to do above and beyond going out to beat up the bad guys. Which, in the end, is pretty much how all the missions started to feel to me. There wasn't anything to break up the routine. Plaque hunting kept my interest for a while, but even that started to get tedious. At first the fact that there was no real economy in the game was appealing to me, but I found that I missed looting and getting new equipment for my characters.
I will probably come back when City of Villains is introduced just to see the changes, but for now I can't justify paying a monthly fee for a game I don't use."
I will truly miss playing with those of you who haven't come across to WoW.
Funny...leaving a video game isn't supposed to make one sad. Current Mood: sad

Mia for awhile
Hello my fellow Saints,
Well my beloved videocard decided to check out early. Of course this had to happen after I plunked down a good chunk of change on an xbox and stuff for it. I'm writing this on a box I keep around for situations like this. Powerful enough to surf the web, but that's it. So at least I'm not totally shut out from the world.
Meh, oh well. Anywho...seeing how my system was starting to near the low end of the spectrum, I'm going to go ahead and build a new one. Probably looking at three months or so before I'm back online, or at the very latest by the time CoV comes out.

Getting off the grid
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Seeing as this is the last semester of my college degree, I need to focus and put this to bed. As a result, you won't see me online for the next few months.
If you need to remove me from the supergroup to make room for active members, feel free to do so, and I'll rejoin when life settles a bit.
This applies to:
Green Neutrino (Empathy/Radiation Defender)
Saint Sinner (Fire/Fire Tank)
i-9 (Gravity/Force Field Controller)
Rhese (Spines/Regeneration Scrapper)
(and probably one or two others that I forgot to list)
See you all in May.

Badge Mission Times Set
OK... based on the responses I have received so far, I'm thinking I would like to go ahead and run both the Spelunker mission and the Doctor's Ally mission tomorrow, Friday 2/11. I work tomorrow, so I'm looking at 8:30 pm EST. This should give us enough time to do the missions and still let people have their Friday night fun.
See you on Virtue... we'll run the Spelunker badge first (lvl 12 so no SK'ing required), and the Doctor's Ally second (lvl 35, so we will have to SK some people).
When you log on, check for either Saint Sinner or Rheese.
|Tuesday, February 8th, 2005|
Saint Sinner just picked up The Doctor's Ally mission. It's a level 35 door mission against Crey. It is also the mission you need to get the Crey CBX-9 pistol accolade.
If anyone wants in, I can turn my mission slider down and SK one front line fighter. Bio Unit could probably SK another, leaving room for non-melee support.
If you're looking to get your pistol early, let me know. (and yes, I know the pistol isn't that great, but hey... it's a badge)
Let me know what days/times work best. Maybe we could run this mission and the Spelunker mission back to back.

My lowbie alt, Rheese, currently has the spelunker mission and I wanted to get a team of characters together that need that badge. I'm thinking we should do it next weekend, possibly Saturday or Sunday (2/12 or 2/13). If you're interested in joining me, leave a message here so we can coordinate the effort.
Also, don't worry about sidekicking/exemplaring. I'm not that concerned with the xp.

The Circle is back up to their old tricks.
One of MAGI's precognitives has gotten kidnapped by the Circle of Thorns (again...)*
Tonight The Automater will be heading into the caves in Perez park to try and rescue her, if you want to come along just let me know.
Probably around 20:00 (EST)*It's the "fortune teller" mission that gives the spelunker badge.
Crey is Watching You!
It has come to my attention (through one of my contacts) that Crey Industries is collecting a database of all Heroes in Paragon City.
...and I'm in it
Be careful out there. They're watching.

Try to get here by noon on Sunday. We wanna do a task force.
Heheheheh...No pressure or anything.
Seriously, all. Juno sent me an email today and asked if I'd be interested in doing the 23-28 task force in Striga, so I thought I'd throw it out here and see who was available this weekend. Maybe it's just what we need to get a few people up to the point where we can feasibly try Terra Volta together.

Save the Fortuneteller Mission
I was wondering if any of you lower level members have access to the Fortuneteller mission (Spelunker badge). Green Neutrino was my first character and I didn't really know that running missions could be important later on. As a result, I never did the mission, and never got the Spelunker badge.
Now at level 36 (almost 37), I realize that I could already have the Atlas Medallion accolade if I had done that mission originally. The Spelunker mission is level 10-15 and is set against the Circle of Thorns.
If any of you have access to that mission, and would be willing to let me exemplar down to run it with you, I would really appreciate it (I would also be willing to kick some influence your way, if you're in need).
Let me know. I can run the mission any time this weekend starting Friday at 7:00 pm.

FYI - Frozen Fury Badge
Just thought I'd shed some light into why people are being stingy over the snow lords. I was playing my Taxibot today when the shout went out that one had spawned in Four Seasons. I ran over there, died, but got ressurected in time to help take him down. I got the experience, I got the snowballs, and I got the present...but I got no badge. I sent a petition inquiriing why, and I was informed that because neither I nor my team did the most damage I didn't qualify for the badge.
So, unlike other Monsters, you actually have to be part of the team that does the most damage to get the badge. If, for example, you are on a team of 8 level 12's and some level 50 comes along and out ranks you on the damage? That hero is going to get the badge and your team isn't.
I know for a fact Babbage doesn't work this way, because I took part in a mass assault on him that involved about 30 heroes and we ALL got the badge.

Well Julius finally made it on respec. Was a pickup team and everyone was within 1 level of each other. So I go to the guy in GC and when I click on him I have a screen that says select new power. Problem is the powers are ones I already have. Resist damage and Temp Invulnerability. Is there something I'm missing here, a bug, or what? Help! :D Current Mood: curious

Hard Boiled: Everything the same
Tenacious:Mostly the same, a third of them are +1
Rugged:+1 and +2 no same level
Invincible:All plus two, most powerful minions, the occasion +3
A few things about the slider.
Hey guys. We all had some questions about the mission sliders last night, so I did poked around on the forums a bit (G_d help me) and found the following tidbits.
--The difficulty is determined by the person to whom the mission belongs. In the mission window, beside each person's name is their current difficulty setting.
So, if the leader picks Capt. Crunch's mission and he is set to Rugged, then the mission will based on the level Capt. Crunch was when he got it and then modified by the Rugged setting (which is normal sized groups of +1 & +2 level villains).
--1) Once difficulty has been set, all your missions spawn at that new difficulty, regardless of where they are instanced. I had several in PI last night, but a couple took me to Skyway and even Boomtown. All spawned at the higher level.
2) The mission spawns at the level of the mission owner....so everyone fighting with you will face the same critters you will. Mission sliders show no mercy!
3) You can move it back down a notch...but it costs you each time you move it up or down....at my level, the price seems to be the same to go up or down a single level.

Tonight's Taxibot Badge Tour
as many of you already know, tonight's Badge Tour is taking place in Steel Canyon.
As a result, a couple of lower-level taxis are concerned for their health and well-being.
So I'm cashing in the Hellmouth Saints' offer to be Badge Tour Security Detail.
There's only 4 badges in the zone, and I believe
they are all fairly safe. Bright Star had Clocks spawning near it, if I remember, and Nimble Mynx is up near Boomtown/Icon, so there may be nastiness up there, but the other two should be okay.
Under normal circumstances...
With the Fifth Column/Council riots going on, who knows?
If anyone can show up between 8 and 10pm EST to help out, it will be muchly appreciated.
